Darfur


 

  • The Kingdom of Bahrain's position with regards to Darfur is in correlation with the resolutions resulting from the Arab Summit. The Kingdom of Bahrain supports the Sudanese government, and praises the efforts of the Arab League, and welcomes the Abuja Agreement of 5 May, 2006. In addition to supporting collaboration with the African Union to resolve the crisis in Darfur, and providing support to African Union forces, in accordance with a resolution from Al-Khartoum Summit.

  • Regarding the deployment of international forces, the Kingdom of Bahrain welcomes the entry of the forces with the approval of the Sudanese government in accordance with Security Council resolution 1706. Moreover, the Kingdom of Bahrain has welcomed Arab efforts to resolve the crisis between Sudan and Chad, and the outcome of the Tripoli Meeting, held in the Libyan capital on 15-16 July, 2007, to resolve the crisis in Darfur.
