Bahrain National Day Celebration in the Kingdom of Spain
Affirming the commitment of the Kingdom of Bahrain to strengthen the historical relations between the two friendly Kingdoms and consolidate them in various fields of mutual interest, the non resident Ambassador Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohamed Al Khalifa celebrated the 46th anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the 18th anniversary of the accession of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa held for the first time in the Kingdom of Spain today at a lunch reception at the Westin Palace Hotel.
HE the Ambassador received the Ambassadors of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Egypt, Kingdom of Jordan, Palestine, Arab League, Yemen, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, and Mauritania as well as representatives of the embassies of the Sultanate of Oman, Kingdom of Morocco and Iraq. The event was also attended by a number of senior officials of the Spanish Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Defence, and Madrid Chamber of Commerce.
In his speech HE stated that Bahrain national celebrations are a celebration of Bahrain’s unique spirit, tolerance and economic opportunities. The spirit of Bahrain is to be tolerant of all religions and cultures. For Bahrain, tolerance is a way of life – evident in the way various places of worship coexist in its Capital and more recently through His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s recently published Declaration of Religious Tolerance.
H.E. also highlighted the unique relationship between the two kingdoms and the common path in which both royal families have led their nations through democratic reforms and his wishes for the coming years, to strengthen that bond between Spain and Bahrain – to boost trade, encourage investment, and deepen this friendship.
