H.E. Mr. Jamal Fares Alrowaiei
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Permanent Representative.
His Excellency Ambassador Jamal Al Rowaiei is the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations. He presented his credentials to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on 14 September 2011.
He also served as Vice President of the 70th session of the General Assembly.
Before his appointment, Ambassador Al Rowaiei was the Deputy Permanent Representative since 2008. He was previously an Adviser in the Executive Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs from 2005 to 2008, a position he also held between 1996 and 2001.
From 2001 to 2005, Ambassador Al Rowaiei was a Political Officer in Bahrain’s Embassy in Washington, D.C. He started his diplomatic career as a political analyst in the Research and Studies Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, having joined the foreign service in 1995.
Ambassador Al Rowaiei obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature from the University of Bahrain.
Born on 3 August 1971 in Riffa, Bahrain, he is married.
