The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, affirmed that the strong cultural relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt was a vital foundation for the firm and outstanding ties.
This is in addition to shared visions, based on common elements, making it a model of relations between brotherly nations.
This came as Shaikh Rashid received researcher and author Saqr bin Abdulla Al Moawda, who presented him with a copy of his book “Bahrain and Honoring the Prince of Poets”, marking the 9th anniversary of crowning Ahmed Shawqi the Prince of Poets.
The ambassador praised the author’s efforts in preparing the book, which sets important intellectual and human events in the course of unique fraternal relations and common destiny. It highlights the Arab-Islamic identity of Bahrain and the permanent patronage of the Kingdom to Arab culture, where celebrating the Prince of Poets was one of its manifestations.
He pointed out in this regard the signing of the executive program for bilateral cultural cooperation, which includes various types of arts, heritage, monuments among others as well as the participation of the Kingdom of Bahrain as guest of honor at the Cairo International Book Fair in its 4th session last year.
This is in addition to activating all cultural exchange tools to produce events that meet the aspirations of people from both countries, thanks to the Royal directives to enhance the prospects of cooperation with Egypt in various fields.
Shaikh Khalid stressed that Bahrain and Egypt constitute an Arab political, strategic and cultural depth to meet the challenges at the regional level, expressing full satisfaction with the progress of the Bahraini-Egyptian relations as it undergoes a comprehensive qualitative leap, including the cultural field.
