Laissez-Passer


The laissez-passer is a document only valid for one entry and for one month from the date of issuance, It is only issued to temporarily replace lost, stolen or expired passports and for children newly born in the US or Canada.

Obtaining a laissez-passer requires:


If the laissez-passer is to replace a lost or stolen passport:
  • A letter from the applicant addressed to the Ambassador requesting a laissez-passer, stating the date of travel and Mention the transiting country in your letter of request.
  • Two (2) passport size photos ( white background,1.5" x 2.5")
  • US$60 fee (money order payable to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain )
  • A police report of the loss or theft of the passport.
  • A copy of the previous passport (if available)
  • Send all documents and a self-addressed stamped envelope to the Embassy through the US Postal Service (Express or Priority Mail). If you choose to use another service for the return of your documents, such as FedEx or DHL
  • Please make sure that your name and address appear in both the sender and the recipient fields of the prepaid airway bill.

If the laissez-passer is for a child newly born in the US or Canada:
  • A letter from the applicant addressed to the Ambassador requesting a laissez-passer, and stating the date of travel and the transit country.
  • Two (2) passport size photos ( white background,1.5" x 2.5")
  • US $60 fee (money order payable to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain )
  • A copy of both parent's passport.
  • An original or authenticated copy of the birth certificate
  • A legalized copy of the parents' marriage.
  • Send all documents and a self-addressed stamped envelope, to the Embassy by FedEx, DHL, UPS, Express or Priority Mail.
