H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ghassan Shaikho , Bhahrain's Ambassador to India has said that the emerging Kerala summit would provide an opportunity to explore the possibility of investment in key sectors like IT, Power, infrastructure etc.
Speaking to the media on the eve of emerging Kerala summit in the capital, the Ambassador said if Kerala government comes forward seeking investment in Air Kerala, Bahrain would consider investment through equity partnership. It would also look forward for investing in power, infrastructure building and energy sectors. Lauding the Kerala government for achieving 100 percent literacy, he said both Kerala and Bahrain could strengthen its co-operation in education. Tourism is another key area of focus and also other sector like aviation and power sectors.

Mohamed Ghassan Shaikho, Bahrain's Ambassador to India has said that Bahrain will explore the possibilities of investing in Air Kerala through equity partnership. Speaking to media before departing to attend the Emerging Kerala Summit in the capital, Shaikho said , a high level delegation from Bahrain would participate in the summit and identify key areas like IT, Banking, infrastructure building, education, food processing, energy related fields for investment.
Bahrain and Kerala have historical ties since time immemorial and this would be further strengthened he added. He said the summit would not only provide an opportunity to explore the possibility to strengthen business co-operation but also help in attracting investments to Bahrain. There are3.7 lakh Indian expatriates and among them 65 percent are keralites. Urging the business community to invest in Bahrain, Shaikho said that Bahrain provides the required facilities to businessmen like single window clearance and easy government reforms in the form of tax concessions. He further said Bahrain was keen to come up with investments in Kerala provided the Government comes out with an investor friendly approach. Mr. Shaikho said the Bahraini delegation is accompanied by Kerala entrepreneurs like Yousuf Ali and Ravi Pillai. The Ambassador said although private investors are keen to invest in Kerala , the Bahrain government was also looking into the possibility of investing and a final decision on this would be taken by the Bahrain investment board Shaikho said a preliminary discussion on equity partnership in Air Kerala would be held in cochin.
