Dr. Muhammad Abdul Ghaffar presented his credentials to President François Hollande on September 8th, 2015, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the French Republic. He is also Permanent Delegate to UNESCO (21/12/2015), and non- resident Ambassador to the Holy See (17/12/2015), to Switzerland (12/1/2016) to Italy (14/7/2016- 30/9/2019), to Estonia (5/10/2018), to the Principality of Monaco (28/2/2019), to Latvia (16/4/2019) and to Lithuania (30/9/2019).

Education
  • [1991] He obtained a Ph.D. in Political Science from State University of New York at Binghamton
  • [1981] He also obtained a Master’s Degree Political Science from the New School for Social Research in New York
  • [1974] He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Poona University
  • Dr Abdul Ghaffar is the author of several studies about security in the Arabian Gulf region and about the strategic cooperation between key States in the West Asia region

  • [1991] Eid AlElm Award, on the occasion of receiving the Master’s degree in Political Science with Distinction
  • [1981] Eid AlElm Award, on the occasion of receiving the PhD degree (honoris causa)
