The Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to UNESCO meets with the Director General of the Organization
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the French Republic and the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), Dr. Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar Abdulla, met with UNESCO Director-General, Irina Bokova.
The Ambassador praised the efforts of the UNESCO Director-General and her team in supporting His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's use of information and communication technology in the field of education.
He affirmed the historical relationship between the Kingdom of Bahrain and UNESCO that precedes the period leading up to the accession of the Kingdom to the United Nations, and stressed the attention paid by the leadership of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Organization.
Ms. Bokova expressed her pleasure to visit the Kingdom of Bahrain from 17 to 19 May 2017, stating that she was honored to meet His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who she said had a great impact on the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to support international organizations, particularly the UNESCO.
This is in addition to meeting with His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, as well as visiting the Arab Regional Center for World Heritage based in Bahrain.
