In presence of number of British Ministers and MPs, Embassy of Kingdom of Bahrain in United Kingdom holds annual ceremony
The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the United Kingdom held today its annual ceremony for the Bahrain All-Party Parliamentary Group and the Bahrain-British Friendship Society, under the patronage of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa. The ceremony was held in the presence of a number of Ministers, MPs and media figures, including the Minister of State for Middle East Affairs, Dr. Andrew Morrison, Shadow Minister for Middle East Affairs in the Labour Party, Fabian Hamilton, Shadow Minister for European Affairs, Khalid Mahmood, the former Minister of State for Middle East Affairs, Alistair Burt, as well as other politicians and MPs.
The Ambassador delivered a speech in which he expressed pride in the relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, noting the role of the association in promoting the Kingdom of Bahrain in all fields.
For his part, Chair of the Bahrain-UK Parliamentary Group, Bob Stewart expressed his pride in his relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain that date back to 50 years, stressing the importance of strategic relations between the two Kingdoms. He also affirmed his keenness to further develop bilateral cooperation to achieve the aspirations of both countries.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, the former Minister of State for Middle East Affairs, Alistair Burt, expressed his keenness to attend all the ceremonies held by the Embassy of the Kingdom in the UK. He also commended the role of the Embassy in reinforcing ties between the two countries.
The ceremony was attended by a number of MPs from the House of Commons and the House of Lords, including the Vice Chair of the group, Mr. Conor Burns, former Deputy Speaker of House of Commons, Nigel Evans, Lord Astor, MP Rehman Chishti, MP Afzal Khan, Baroness Morris, MP David Jones, Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, in addition to British figures including Sir Geoffrey Tantum, Mr. Robert Goodman, the Chairman of the Bahrain-British Friendship Society, Brigadier Peter Sincock, and other members of the society.
