British Foreign Secretary: UK values its historic friendship ties with Bahrain and vows support for regional security
Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, has received a letter of thanks from U.K. Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab, in response to the congratulations he sent him on his assignment to the Foreign Office portfolio in the new British Government.
In his thank-you letter, the British Foreign Secretary expressed pride in the historical and prosperous friendship relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom for more than two hundred years, looking forward to strengthening the benefits of both countries.
He also expressed U.K’s appreciation of the Bahrain’s strong support to regional security by hosting the British Maritime Support Facility in Juffair, whose role has been instrumental in the success of maritime security operations.
Raab stressed that in addition to fully supporting regional security, particularly in the Kingdom of Bahrain, U.K. affirms its support for Bahrain’s endeavors to achieve national development agendas in of all forms, including human rights, through the implementation of its Government Plan of Action.
While the United Kingdom values its relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain, it seeks to strengthen them in the upcoming period, especially after Brexit, in implementation of British Prime Minister’s vision on engaging in greater cooperation with the countries of the world, relying on the support of friendly countries, notably Bahrain, he added.
