Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa held a dinner banquet for a group of Bahraini students studying at Leeds Universities and surrounding cities to mark the new academic year.
In his welcoming speech, Shaikh Fawaz said the Kingdom of Bahrain is proud of its students at British universities and values their high level of scientific education and continuous efforts to benefit personally and serve the beloved Kingdom of Bahrain.
He pointed out that their role as Bahraini students in UK universities and citizens is not limited to academic achievement, but should also be Bahrain’s best ambassadors abroad.
“Knowledge acquisition is the best and most effective means that makes it possible for nations to share gains and civilizations to advance.”
The ambassador noted that the deep Bahraini-UK friendship and cooperation relations date back more than 200 years and that nowadays many Bahrainis study in the prestigious British universities and return home to contribute to nation building.
“Studying abroad, especially in British universities, is a unique experience that students should take advantage of as much as possible to enhance their skills, achieve the highest levels of excellence and build a brilliant future for the Kingdom of Bahrain,” he remarked
He called on the participating students to reflect the bright and honorable image of the Kingdom of Bahrain, which considers its citizens a real wealth and their scientific, economic and intellectual development an ultimate goal.
