Embassy of Kingdom of Bahrain to Norway celebrates Bahrain National Day
The Non-Resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Norway, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, hosted a reception and a luncheon on the occasion of the Kingdom of Bahrain's national celebrations on 16 and 17 December, in commemoration of the establishment of the modern Bahraini state as an Arab and Muslim country founded by Ahmed Al-Fateh in 1783, the 48th anniversary of its full membership in the United Nations, and the 20th anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne.
The event, which was the first of its kind between the two countries, was attended by a number of senior officials, namely Ambassador Vebjorn Dysvik from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Johan Vibe from the Norwegian Ministry of Culture, as well as other Ambassadors accredited to the Kingdom of Norway and diplomats and officials from the Norwegian Foreign Ministry.
The Ambassador pointed, in speech, that the Kingdom of Bahrain pays a huge importance to enhance its existing cooperation with the Kingdom of Norway, underlining that this 20th Anniversary of His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne reflects the many achievement in his era. He also highlighted in this regard the Kingdom of Bahrain Declaration which aims to promote peace, tolerance and coexistence across the globe.
The Ambassador also highlighted the many events held in the Kingdom of Bahrain in 2019, notably the Peace to Prosperity workshop and Warsaw Process Working Group on Maritime and Aviation Security.
Ambassador Vebjorn Dysvik affirmed his pride in the development of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, hailing this one of its kind celebration in Oslo, the Kingdom of Norway. He also underlined that this celebration reflects the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote relations between the two countries at all levels.
