Bahrain Non-Resident Ambassador to Madrid participates in an annual reception hosted by His Majesty the King of Spain
The Non-Resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Spain, Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, participated in the 2020 annual reception, held at the Royal Palace in the capital Madrid by His Majesty King Philip VI, for accredited ambassadors and diplomatic missions.
The Spanish monarch gave a speech in which he addressed the broad foreign policy outlines of the newly formed Spanish government, where His Majesty focused on topics like the work of European institutions and support for democracy, rule of law and respect of human rights in Latin America.
He also stressed the great role the Kingdom of Spain would play after Brexit and he pointed to the peace proposal made by the United States of America, saying that the Kingdom of Spain was analyzing it in depth.
He, however, stressed the importance of direct negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis to reach a solution in conformity with the United Nations resolutions and previously agreed international standards that takes into account the ambitions of both sides.
The reception, held in the Throne Room at the Spanish Royal Palace, was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Ms. Arancha González Laya, a number of State Ministers at the Spanish Foreign Ministry, ambassadors and foreign diplomatic missions in Spain.
