Ambassador of Bahrain to UK participates in panel discussion entitled “Global Britain and Middle East: Challenges and Opportunities”



The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, participated in a dialogue session organized by the Conservative Party Council for Middle East Affairs (CMEC), entitled “Global Britain and the Middle East: Challenges and Opportunities”, on the sidelines of the Conservative Party Conference in the city of Manchester, which was moderated by the Director of the Conservative Party Council on the Middle East, Her Excellency Charlotte Leslie.

A number of speakers participated in the dialogue session, including the Member of the House of Lords, Her Excellency Emma Nicholson, Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia to the UK, His Excellency Nabil Ben Khedher, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the UK, His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to the UK, His Excellency Mansoor Abulhoul, and a group of parliamentarians and businessmen.



His Excellency the Ambassador of Bahrain to the UK delivered a speech in which he stressed the depth of the relations between the GCC countries and the UK in all fields, looking forward to achieving wider partnerships with international partners, adding that the strategic partnership between the GCC countries and the UK is becoming increasingly important in the wake of the unstable conditions around the world.

The dialogue session dealt with several topics of interest, such as the upcoming United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) and the aspirations of the Kingdom of Bahrain regarding the outcomes of the conference, as well as discussing areas of cooperation on renewable energy sources and environmentally friendly technologies. During the dialogue, the developments in bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel were also discussed, in addition to the signing of the Declaration of Support for Peace and the Abraham Accords and their impact on peace, security and prosperity in the Middle East region.
