Minister of National Economy receives Ambassador of Kingdom of Bahrain to United Arab Emirates
The Minister of National Economy, Eng. Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, received at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Arab Emirates, Shaikh Khalid Bin Abduallah Bin Ali Al Khalifa, in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary of Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of National Economy, Juma alKait.
During the meeting, the Minister of National Economy affirmed the depth of the friendly relations between the two countries, adding that the relationship between them contributed in opening new horizons of cooperation in various fields such as economy, commerce, investment, environment, energy and transportation, which are vital fields strengthened by joint will and geographical and strategic location of the two countries. He also pointed out that the figures related to economics and trade reflect the continued progress and growth of relations between the two countries, where the volume of trade exchange between them reached 28.3 billion dirhams last year. He added that this number is expected to rise in the coming period in light with the efforts exerted and the joint keenness to move forward the relations between the two countries.
For his part, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa stressed the deep ties of brotherhood between the two countries, and noted the Kingdom of Bahrain’s keenness to enhance cooperation and joint coordination at all levels. He explained that the Kingdom of Bahrain always seeks to create a suitable commercial environment for investors and businessmen. He added that Kingdom of Bahrain has become one of the most important financial and business centers in the region because of its strategic location and its commitment to build a better future.
He mentioned that the 2030 economic vision, launched by His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa in October 2008 is a clear and comprehensive vision that focuses on creating an integrated government vision for the community and the economy.
During the meeting, they discussed enhancing the relationships in many areas including economy, trade and investments.
In recent years, the two countries have signed many agreements and memorandums of understanding in many fields such as exploration and peaceful use of space, a protocol of cooperation in research and heritage, memorandums of understanding in the areas of culture, youth support, quality assurance, agriculture and living aquatic resources , as well as an agreement to study the development of renewable energy projects between the Supreme Council for Environment and Abu Dhabi future energy company “Masdar.”
