Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Abu Dhabi honors Bahraini teachers residing in the UAE
Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Arab Emirates Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa held an honoring ceremony for Bahraini teachers residing in the United Arab Emirates to mark the 100th Anniversary of the start of formal education in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He presented them with commemorative shields in appreciation of their efforts in the field of Education in the sisterly state of the United Arab Emirates in reflection of the bonds of brotherhood and love between the two countries.
The ambassador praised the stages of development of education in its various stages in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the great efforts that were made during a hundred years, which was reflected through the admiration and appreciation of the international community after the Kingdom of Bahrain had succeeded in achieving the Millennium Development Goals ahead of the 2015 deadline and embarked on the implementation the 17 sustainable development goals Which the countries of the world must achieve by 2030.
He affirmed that, thanks to the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Kingdom of Bahrain has achieved many distinguished results in international reports about education and human development.
Of these, the ambassador mentioned what came in the report of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) for the years 2018 and 2019, which showed that the Kingdom ranked first in the Arab world and the third in the countries of the Middle East and North Africa in terms of indicators related to education.
This is, he said, in addition to the human development report issued by the United Nations Development Program for 2018, and UNESCO’s 2019 Global Education Monitoring Report, World Bank Report on Human Capital Index 2018 and World Economic Forum Report on Competitiveness and Gender Gap for 2018, which all emphasized the kingdom's high position in education indicators.
Shaikh Khalid also touched on the qualitative shift under the prosperous era of His Majesty the King with the transition from Quranic education courses, to girls’ education and literacy program to reach an advanced stage of e-learning and under the guidance of His Majesty, the kingdom embarked on a more advanced stage, digital empowerment, describing the march as a comprehensive development investing in human resources.
The Ambassador, then hosted a dinner banquet for the Bahraini teachers who thanked His Excellency and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain in Abu Dhabi for their efforts to serve the Bahraini citizens in the United Arab Emirates
