Ambassadors of Bahrain, UAE, Egypt and the Chargé d'affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Germany meet Philipp Ackermann

The Ambassadors of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Munich met with the Regional Director for the Near and Middle East and the Maghreb at the German Federal Foreign Office, the Ambassador Dr. Philipp Ackermann.

They explained to Dr. Ackermann the measures and steps taken by the States to sever diplomatic relations with the State of Qatar in light of the obligations of States to fight terrorism and extremism, dry up its funding and the tools of its promotion, and that this came as a result of the failure of the authorities in Doha to fulfill the obligations and agreements signed between them, including the pledge not to support or harbor elements or organizations that threaten the security of States.

The State of Qatar ignored the repeated calls to fulfill what it signed in the Riyadh Agreement of 2013 and its executive mechanism and the supplementary agreement in 2014, which threatened the national security of these countries, targeting subversion and spreading chaos by individuals or terrorist organizations based in the State of Qatar or supported by them, the States will not hesitate to address these attempts and will stand against any action that threatens the national security and stability of their peoples.

The Ambassadors and the Chargé d'affaires affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Arab Republic of Egypt on the interest of the Qatari people and that they are not to be harmed by the practices of their Government.
The people of Qatar are an extension of their brothers in the Arabian Gulf States and are part of their roots, therefor the States made sure to take into account the humanitarian situations of families shared by Qatar and their countries.

The German government expressed its concern about this crisis and stressed the importance of finding a solution within the Gulf as the Federal Republic of Germany has common interests with those countries and stressed the need for restoring security and stability in the region.
