Bahrain’s Embassy in Washington, DC hosts the Bahraini American Friendship Society reception


The Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States hosted on Wednesday, May 25, 2016, a reception in honor of the members of the Bahraini American Friendship Society.

The reception was attended by the American members of the Society who came from different cities and US states, in addition to Bahraini businessmen, parliamentary, political and academic figures, who were keen to participate in this event highlighting the importance of strengthening the historic ties between the two countries.

The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States, Shaikh Abdulla bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, affirmed during his opening speech, the strength of bilateral ties between Bahrain and the United States on the political, military, economic and cultural levels, stressing the need for the continuity of developing ties that date back to the 19th century. The Ambassador also commended efforts made by the Society in further developing bilateral relations to help achieve the aspirations of the two countries and their peoples; emphasizing the need to promote the work of the Society to reflect the depth of the ties between the two countries and to enhance mutual understanding between the two countries, by promoting historical, commercial, cultural and social programs of mutual benefit.

The Ambassador stressed the importance of increasing the number of members of the Society, especially young people as they will add value to its work in the future.
