Bahrain Embassy in Washington completes evacuation of citizens from USA and Canada
In implementation of the royal directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America, has completed the evacuation of all Bahraini citizens from the United States of America and Canada, who expressed their wish to return home and requested assistance by the embassy, following the suspension of many international flights due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus (Covid-19).Pandemic
The embassy, in coordination with the military, security and cultural attachés, came to the citizens’ assistance and evacuated all those living in North America and wished to return home.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic in the United States and Canada, the embassy has been keen to communicate with the citizens there, who in their turn have registered with the it, either through Wejhaty, phone calls to the embassy's emergency line, e-mail, or calls received by the follow-up office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The embassy, through its continuous contacts, has listed the citizens in the United States of America and Canada and evacuated 301 of them from both countries, the equivalent of 61% of the total number of citizens in North America, while 39% have expressed their wish to stay in the USA and Canada.
The embassy continued providing its services and assistance to citizens in North America in a proactive and prudent manner, so it sent personal protection requirements such as masks, gloves, disinfectants and some medicines to all the registered citizens who live in the United States and Canada and sent each of them a package of basic foodstuffs as a precautionary measure, in case of foodstuffs shortage in the local markets.
The embassy calls on the honorable citizens who are now in the United States and Canada to follow the instructions issued by the local authorities, and take care and caution, including social distancing.
It also urges those who are have not registered with the embassy to register on Wejhaty or contact the embassy directly and follow its accounts on social media, Twitter and Instagram.
