Open Government Partnership lists 13 Bahraini initiatives as examples to address Coronavirus pandemic

The Open Government Partnership, an international multilateral initiative based in Washington, DC, has listed 13 Bahraini initiatives as examples to address the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19), as part of the efforts of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America to highlight the Kingdom's successful model with all international standards in addressing of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, due to the early policies and measures the government has taken in the framework of respect for human rights and a commitment to transparency and clarity.

Among the most prominent initiatives that were included the sincere national efforts of the Bahrain team led His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in tackling the Coronavirus, the conscious community application that is based on the use of technology and smart device technologies to enhance follow-up and control of cases of home quarantine and the ability to monitor contact cases and alert citizens and residents in the event of their approach or mixing with existing cases, in addition to the launch of the National Campaign to Combat the Coronavirus, which allocated several volunteer activities for those wishing to participate, starting from the principle of social responsibility and promoting solidarity and cooperation between Bahraini community members, and the portal of the Ministry of Health website to monitor details of the impact of contacts with existing cases.

The Open Government Partnership also included two initiatives of the Supreme Council for Women in implementation of the directives of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa Wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, the National Campaign "Together for the safety of Bahrain" to provide everything necessary to support the needs of the Bahraini family and women and in cooperation and direct coordination with the national platform for volunteering in combating the Coronavirus, and Her Royal Highness's directives to pay debts and financial sums owed by Bahraini women whom judicial rulings have been issued within the list published by the Ministry of Interior on the application “Faael Khair”.
