Bahrain Ambassador to USA Participates in Washington Economic Club’s Symposium
Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United States of America, Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, affirmed that the vision of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa with regard to peaceful coexistence in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region has played a fundamental role in the important historical step taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain of signing of the declaration in support of peace with the State of Israel.
“His Majesty the King was keen to support the march of security and peace in the region, as one of the pillars of economic stability.”
This came as he took part in a seminar held by the Washington Economic Club, in which the ambassadors of the United Arab Emirates and Israel to the United States of America also were participating in the first public event that brings together the ambassadors of the three countries.
The Bahraini ambassador responded to a number of questions raised after declaring support for peace between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Israel, indicating that the Kingdom of Bahrain took this step in consultation with its allies in the region and outside.
It was out of conviction that we the kingdom was on the right track as joint discussions with the Israeli side resulted in Signing memoranda of understanding, explaining that the Kingdom of Bahrain is developing rapidly through diversification of its income sources and advanced vision in developing entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises.
He said that the Kingdom of Bahrain, and in the context of combating the Coronavirus (Covid 19) pandemic, has carried out 1.8 million tests are, a figure that surpasses the number of citizens and residents .
He added that the Kingdom of Bahrain was the first country in the region in which oil was discovered and large quantities were also discovered in 2018, so it looks forward to cooperating with American institutions and partners in this regard.
The Ambassador touched on the Iranian role that is working to destabilize the region, noting that, in the event of signing a new agreement with Iran, the United States should take into account all the challenges facing the countries of the region, not just Iran's Missiles Program.
