High-level delegations of senior officials from world countries and organizations also took part in the session.
The IAEA holds its annual conference every September in Vienna International Centre, providing a platform for the agency and member states to discuss using nuclear and technological sciences in peaceful manners, as well as ways to strengthen regional and international cooperation in the field of nuclear security. It also reviews the latest activities of the agency at all levels.
The conference also discusses several important draft resolutions that define global policies in the field of nuclear energy, including the resolution to establish a weapons of mass destruction free zone in the Middle East.
The Kingdom of Bahrain has been a member of the IAEA since 2009. In 2018, the Kingdom signed Bahrain’s Country Programme Framework (CPF) with the IAEA, which resulted in enhancing cooperation between the Kingdom and the IAEA in various vital fields.
