Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds preparatory meeting for Bahrain-UK Joint Working Group
Assistant Undersecretary for Western and Afro-Asian Affairs, Ambassador Tawfiq Ahmed Al Mansour, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the preparatory meeting of the Joint Working Group between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom.
The meeting discussed a number of topics tabled for the next 12th Ministerial Meeting of the Joint Working Group, to be held in the United Kingdom on 17 October 2019.
The meeting will be co-chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and the Secretary of State for the Middle East and North Africa at the British Foreign Office, Dr. Andrew Morrison.
During today’s preparatory meeting, bilateral relations and ways of enhancing them in various fields, especially in economic, investment, education and scientific research as well as in combating terrorism and extremism and other domains were discussed.
It is worth mentioning that the meeting of the Bahrain-UK Joint Working Group takes place in within the framework of an agreement signed in November 2012, on holding meetings between the two parties twice a year to discuss developments and cooperation between the two friendly countries.
