Minister of Foreign Affairs meets with US Senator, Congressmen

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, met with Senator Chris Murphy, member of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on Near East, South Asia, Central Asia and Counterterrorism. The Minister of Foreign Affairs also met with Congressman Ted Deutch, senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and Congressman Joe Wilson, member of the the House Foreign Affairs Committee, on the sidelines of the 15th Manama Dialogue Summit.

During the meeting, the Minister welcomed the United States Senator and the two Congressmen, expressing his appreciation for their participation at the Manama Dialogue Summit. He also stressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s pride in its close strategic relations with the United States of America, which is based on the principles of mutual respect and trust and joint keenness to enhance bilateral work in several fields, as well as developing joint coordination on regional and international issues.

For their part, the US Senator and the Congressmen expressed their pleasure to have met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, praising the deep-rooted friendly relations between the two countries. They also pointed out the Kingdom’s policy of openness and communication with the world’s nations in order to achieve regional security and stability. They also wished the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
