Assistant Foreign Minister Receives Member of Representatives Council and Head of Human Rights Committee
Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabr Al Dossari today received in his office at the Ministry's General Court Member of the Representatives Council and Chairman of the Human Rights Committee Ammar bin Ahmed Al Bannai.
The Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs welcomed the MP and praised the important role played by the Council of Representatives about various national issues and hailed its outstanding efforts in proposing and discussing issues of importance to national interests, citizens and their aspirations.
This is, he said in addition to discussing laws and legislation related to human rights, and playing a tangible role in support of everything that would develop human rights work and improve it, stressing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ keenness to enhance cooperation and joint coordination vis-à-vis various issues that would support national achievements and gains.
Both sides discussed the broad consultations to be launched as well as the first workshop to be held in cooperation with the Council of Representatives in preparation for mapping out the National Human Rights Plan.
They agreed on the general framework and the preparatory executive procedures given the important role of the Parliament in enriching discussions and suggestions regarding the national plan, which would reflect the role and experiences of the legislative power in the legal field.
For his part, MP Al-Bannai took pride in having me the Assistant Foreign Minister and noted the constant desire of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to develop all aspects of cooperation, communication and consultation with the legislative authority in a way that enhances the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain at all levels, welcoming such close cooperation and coordination and expressed readiness to participate in workshops to prepare the national human rights plan and provide appropriate visions and ideas in this respect.
