Minister of Foreign Affairs holds virtual meeting with number of Ambassadors of Kingdom of Bahrain abroad
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, held today a virtual meeting with a number of Ambassadors of the Kingdom of Bahrain accredited to Arab and foreign countries.
The meeting highlighted the efforts exerted by Bahraini diplomatic missions and consulates to follow up on the affairs of Bahraini citizens residing abroad, in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed to the Ambassadors the utmost thanks and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and those of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for the efforts exerted by the diplomatic missions of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad to provide full care to Bahraini citizens abroad in order to ensure their safety under the current circumstances.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs further praised the diplomatic missions of the Kingdom of Bahrain in their handling of the operation to evacuate Bahraini citizens and facilitate their return to the Kingdom, thus confirming the leadership's keenness to the return of all Bahraini citizens abroad, which follows a coordinated and effective evacuation plan that takes into account the precautionary measures adopted by health authorities, including conducting the required medical examinations and quarantine and providing the necessary medical treatment.
This also indicates the importance of adhering to the procedures of preventive evacuation plans, coordinating with officials and specialists in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the competent authorities and making all the necessary arrangements to have the evacuation plans run smoothly and to ensure the safe return of Bahraini citizens to the Kingdom.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs assured the Ambassadors that the Kingdom has well managed to achieve a great success in limiting the spread of coronavirus, and it is proceeding with the efforts and cooperation of all the competent authorities and community partnerships to face this great challenge.
He also stressed the importance of constantly communicating with Bahraini citizens abroad, providing all forms of support and assistance to them, and assuring them of the safety of the general health situation in the Kingdom thanks to the measures and precautions taken by the esteemed government, expressing his wishes of success to the heads of Bahraini diplomatic missions.
The Ambassadors briefed the Minister of Foreign Affairs on the measures taken by the Bahraini diplomatic missions abroad to communicate with Bahraini citizens and students in those countries, noting their efforts to provide the necessary support and assistance to meet the requirements in the current circumstances, and the arrangements that they have prepared, in coordination with the competent authorities, to facilitate the evacuation of those wishing to return to the Kingdom.
On this occasion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs signed the decision to establish and form the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Council, which will monitor the progress of work and performance and develop general policies and executive plans, confirming that the Council will contribute to decision-making and dealing with issues, developments and follow up on the evaluation of political and security developments as well as regional and international diplomacy.
