Minister of Foreign Affairs conducts a virtual call with Ambassadors of Kingdom of Bahrain abroad
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani, today, Wednesday, 20 May 2020, made a remote visual communication call with all of the Ambassadors of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Arab and foreign countries, with the participation of the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Undersecretaries of the Ministry.
At the beginning of the call, the Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the thanks and appreciation of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to the Ambassadors and all employees of Bahrain’s diplomatic missions abroad, for the sincere and determined efforts made to implement the high directives to arrange the return of Bahraini citizens to the country safely in light of the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic and for their continuous follow-up on the affairs of Bahraini citizens residing abroad.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that the sincere efforts made by the diplomatic missions of the Kingdom of Bahrain abroad in these difficult circumstances are appreciated and cherished by all members of society and in particular the families of the citizens returning to the country, in addition to those who expressed their joy at the return of their children and spending the days of Eid Al-Fitr between their families and loved ones, as the number of citizens whose return has been arranged since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic until today is about 5587 citizens, praising the active and important role played by the Kingdom's embassies as a safe haven for Bahraini citizens abroad.
He also valued the cooperation and joint coordination that took place between embassies, consulates and officials in the ministry to facilitate the safety return of the citizens, according to a coordinated and effective plan that was set and followed up between various competent authorities in the Kingdom, from the Ministry of Health, Civil Aviation, Gulf Air and other entities. Praising the distinguished efforts made in this regard by the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Gulf Air, regarding the facilities and precautions it provided to ensure the safe return of the citizens, noting the cooperation that the Kingdom of Bahrain has received from many brotherly and friendly countries to arrange and facilitate the process of the return of Bahraini citizens.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs expressed his gratitude and pride for His Majesty's considerable attention and care given to the Kingdom's embassies abroad, delivering to the Ambassadors, the Kingdom of Bahrain's leadership, government and people’s pride in the great success achieved in curbing the spread of the Coronavirus, praising the sincere and determined efforts led by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, in accordance with well studied plans and precautionary measures, praising the community partnership that manifested in the cooperation of all members of the society to meet this great challenge, and the commitment shown by the people of the homeland and residents to the precautionary measures in facing this emergency health pandemic.
During the call, a number of issues related to the activities of the diplomatic missions abroad, and ways to enhance and support their efforts to fully perform their diplomatic duties were also discussed.
For their part, the Ambassadors expressed their thanks and appreciation for the initiative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to contact them, expressing their thanks and gratitude of the praise and appreciation from the leadership for the efforts of the diplomatic missions abroad, stressing that what they have done is a national duty and a commitment to the responsibility of the diplomatic missions in implementation of the directives of His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and their customary keenness to follow the affairs of Bahraini citizens abroad, and that the diplomatic missions abroad will always continue their diplomatic efforts with the same tender and dedication to care for the affairs of the Bahraini nationals abroad and provide them with the best services.
At the end of the call, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Ambassadors conveyed to His Majesty the King, His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, their sincere congratulations and blessings on the coming occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, renewing their sincere loyalty and devotion to their dear country, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
