FM reviews bolstering ties with Yemen, Tunisia, Afghanistan and the US on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, reiterated the Kingdom of Bahrain’s commitment to participate along its brethren in the Arab coalition in defending the legitimacy in Yemen until all the aspirations of the Yemeni people are achieved to stop the coup against the legitimacy and end foreign intervention in Yemeni affairs, as well as enable the legitimate government to perform its duties in a secure environment, bolster stability across the country and achieve development and progress.
This came as the Minister of Foreign Affairs received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen, Dr Riyadh Yaseen, on the sidelines of the 11 session of the Manama Dialogue, where efforts exerted for security and peace in Yemen were discussed.
Dr Riyadh Yaseen expressed his country’s appreciation to the great efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Bahrain and its supportive position in the interest of the Yemeni people as well as its keenness for Yemen’s security, peace and unity.
Shaikh Khalid also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tunisia, Al Taïeb Baccouche, and discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the means of bolstering these ties in various fields.
Shaikh Khalid expressed his appreciation for the historic relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Republic of Tunisia and its progress at all levels, affirming the Kingdom’s keenness to strengthen relations to further achieve joint benefits.
The Tunisian Foreign Minister expressed his country’s keenness to develop relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain at all levels. The meeting covered the exchange of views on regional issues.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Salahuddin Rabbani, and discussed the developed bilateral relations between the two countries and the means of bolstering these ties in various fields.
He affirmed the commitment of the Kingdom of Bahrain to support efforts exerted by Afghanistan to combat terrorism and extremism as well as comprehensive development and prosperity for the people of Afghanistan.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan expressed his country’s appreciation to the Kingdom of Bahrain’s role to support efforts aimed at bolstering peace, security and development in Afghanistan.
Shaikh Khalid also met with the US Deputy Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, affirming that ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the US were witnessing further coordination in various fields, noting the importance of continued development of cooperation for the benefit of the two countries and their people.
The meeting also covered efforts to bolster security and peace in the region as well as opportunities to strengthen coordination between the two countries towards various regional and international issues of mutual interest.
