Assistant Foreign Minister receives United Nations Coordinator and Resident Representative of UNDP in Bahrain
The Assistant Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Faisal bin Jabur Al Doseri, received today the United Nations Coordinator and the Resident Representative of UNDP in Bahrain, Amin El Sharkawi.
Mr Al Doseri praised the efforts and initiatives by the UNDP as well as its role in supporting the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of achieving economic diversification, sustainable development, energy use and technical support to assist civil society bodies and institutions in capacity-building and strategy-making. He affirmed the keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to cooperate with the UN and its agencies in the Kingdom and abroad.
Mr El Sharkawi discussed the ongoing reforms related to the United Nations system and the progress made in achieving the sustainable development goals set out in the Sustainable Development Plan 2030.
He praised the support by the Kingdom of Bahrain to the UNDP as well as its partnership and its role in supporting international efforts to achieve development and peace, wishing the Kingdom further progress and prosperity.
