Minister of Foreign Affairs Takes Part in Ministerial Meeting of the Global Alliance against Daesh in Brussels
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa participated in the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Alliance against Daesh, held today in Brussels, the Kingdom of Belgium.
In a statement on the occasion, the Minister Affairs affirmed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is an active member and a major contributor to the Global Coalition against Daesh as well as it is constantly keen to provide all support to the international coalition to eliminate all terrorist organizations.
Shaikh Khalid lauded the leadership of the United States of America as a friend of the Global Alliance and valued its pivotal and strategic role in combating terrorism at various levels and confronting all terrorist organizations around the world.
The minister reiterated Bahrain's support for the efforts of the brotherly Republic of Iraq in its fight against terrorism and stressed Bahrain’s solidarity and support for the untiring efforts of Prime Minister Dr. Haider Al Abadi in liberating all Iraq from the grip of the terrorist organization and reinstating construction and development for the prosperity of the brethren Iraqis.
He called for intensifying international efforts to combat the extremist ideology that feeds Daesh and other terrorist organizations and noted the importance of enhancing cooperation and joint coordination in order to eliminate this terrorist organization and prevent the emergence of any similar ones in the future
He also stressed the need to further the global efforts aimed at reaching a political solution in the Syrian Arab Republic and ensuring the power of the state to help it expand its control and sovereignty over its territories.
This, he added, would force terrorists groups to withdraw from the country, prevaricate foreign intervention and help the country achieve the aspirations of the brotherly Syrian people for progress and prosperity.
