MoFA Undersecretary for Political Affairs welcomes Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of Asian Cooperation Dialogue
The Undersecretary for Political Affairs, H.E. Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa met virtually today the Director General for Bilateral Political Affairs for Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Ambassador Nilvana Darama, the Secretary General of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), H.E. Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana, and the Deputy Director of the Asian Affairs Department in the State of Qatar, H.E. Mr. Abdulla Al Khairy.
During the meeting, the Undersecretary welcomed the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue, for the period of 2021-2022, which will shed light on green recovery in the post-pandemic health field, expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by the Republic of Turkey during its presidency.
The Undersecretary also affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment to the objectives of the Asian Dialogue based on enhancing opportunities for cooperation in all fields and developing joint interaction, noting that the exceptional circumstances the world is going through highlight the need for collective solidarity.
He expressed his aspiration to open new horizons for Asian cooperation, leading to strong and sustainable partnerships among member states, noting in this regard, the Kingdom of Bahrain’s presidency of the ministerial meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York this month, as well as the third summit of dialogue in Doha in the near future.
